1.       Purpose of Position

·         Report to a Sr. sales engineer with sales and technical aspects of customer relationships

·         Meet the annual revenue target as well as commercial objectives set by annual base

·         Technical support of finished parts including innovation items

·         Act as one of Corning’s day to day commercial and technical liaisons with customers

 

2.       Major Responsibilities/Ongoing Tasks

·         Development

o    Identify customer requirements for design and quality characteristics of finished parts

o    Quality assessment for development samples and verify customer feedback

o    Define quality standard : managing items and specifications

o    Negotiate purchase specifications with customers

o    Quality approval from customer (Sample and Document)

o    Discuss items and processes of inspection/measuring and determine undecided quality standards

o    Respond to customer issues: verification / cause analysis / action item

o    Lead customer’s plant audit for approval process

Mass-production (More focus on this task)

Support to establish a proper manufacturing process for satisfying qualities required

Define mass production quality standards

Build appropriate inspection system and process which is well aligned with the method of customer

Identify customer request on packaging and delivery

Confirm Mass parts inspection result Defect Reconfirmation

Make a packing spec. and standards, evaluate packaging products

Handle RMAs with customers

Forecasting on any finished parts and scheduling without any supply issues

Investigate customer quality complaints an respond to customer issues: verification / cause analysis / action item

Provide technical assistance to the customers’ manufacturing and sales operations.

3.       Key Decision Areas

Extent of commitment necessary for customer satisfaction on technical issues.

Prioritization of customer issues in order to assign internal resources effectively

Correct internal resource participation to resolve customer complaints.

 

4.       Criteria for Performance Evaluation

Effective and punctual completion of assignments

Ability to work effectively in a self-directed manner

Meeting agreed upon objectives (MBO)

Internal and external customer satisfaction and feedback

Behavior supporting Corning's Quality and Diversity initiatives and core competencies.

Performance evaluation will be conducted upon the completion of each program with the customer by the account manager

5.       Work location

Corning Korea Office in Seoul

Expected travel:  Varies (50% typical), including international trips to China, Vietnam, and others

 

6.       Skills required and years of experience

Good understanding on Auto industry in particular for Auto glazing and Auto interior

Technical background

Problem solving ability

Excellent sales and interpersonal skill

Fluent in English

>5 year experience in commercial or development and product introduction of comparable technology
